It was never proven either way.
you don't have to prove that things don't exist in order to assume they don't exist

so it was only an assumption those things are impossible...

You should not play with something like that
I kind of agree with that part.

much like i assume there aren't enormous pianos falling out of the sky when i leave my house, and thus i don't exit with a safety helmet and panicking under hard structures

if you don't have proof of something's existence, assume it doesn't exist, because for all logical intents and purposes, it doesn't

I prefer being a bit more open minded...

But isn't having an open mind more logical than closed

no, not if being open minded means seriously discussing the existence of something just because you don't have any proof that it doesn't exist

i mean it's fun for shits and giggles but as a way to approach knowledge and life it's not logical, logic tells us to discard anything that we can't prove

plus, if you are openminded you can sometimes find some logic in those things...

i'm not entirely convinced that you understand the scientific method or what logic really is at all.

okay kids logic isn't some ethereal quality to be found by those with a peculiar spirit and a curious, questioning nature. logic is a mathematical method of thought processing and of handling ideas and notions. logic reaches conclusions.

one such conclusion is, don't assume things exist without proof indicating their existence. this is basically a rule of logic. you can have an open mind, as in, if someone tells you "hey astral projection exists!!!" you can be like "why?" instead of shooting him in the face for being stupid. asking "why?" is good. but once he answers with some retarded anecdote that doesn't begin to resemble a coherent argument, the logical thing to do is to discard it the notion just as quickly as you considered it.

closed mind means you are not up to any new things but that is what science is all about

science is entirely about new things. the rules of science basically exist so that we can tell "new things" from "stupid bullshit". you can come up with new rules for logic, but they'd have to follow formal logic.

it's like saying "GUYS I KNOW THAT TWO PLUS TWO IS FOUR AND THREE PLUS THREE IS SIX BUT WHY WOULD EIGHT PLUS EIGHT BE SIXTEEN YOU'RE ALL SO CLOSE MINDED CONSIDER NEW THINGS"

its simple link, you just don't understand how science works. like how an experiment would prove anything, you don't get it. why you need controls and etc., why you need to be peer reviewed, basically everything about science and logic you don't know what it all means, you just have some mystical notions of it in your head

I said SOME logic....plus, sience have proven the posibility of the existance of some paranormal, spiritual related events... and explained scientifically how they are logical, but yet they are researching them....
