I think, first and foremost, you should ask her out on a date. Providing she says yes take her to he cinema, dinner, something like that. Once you've done that, well, that's the ball rolling and you can ask her out on another date (if she says yes, well, good sign! :P). Good luck!

OR just do it how I would do it and directly state "Hey Alice, I'm going down to the movies tonight, I don't want to go alone and I've always thought you were a really interesting girl, want to go along? I'll buy the popcorn."

Unless she's a prude bitch I doubt she'll say no unless you are known as like a creep or something. It's really easy and you don't even have to be good at it man, you just have to actually have the balls to ASK in the first place.
