They expect me and my sister to be the perfect little angle, and maybe that is true in Asian custom back in our homeland, but it sure isn't the case here.  You don't get more obi dent kids than an Asian kids, and yet it just not enough for my parents.  Every subject that I bring up or even try to talk to my parents, it always involve school.  Its been 19 now, and for god sake give me a break.  I deserve the summer off without having to worry about school, and that what the summer is, to take a break away from school.  I have 0 friends, diagnosed with social anxiety and yet I still manage to get a 3.6 overall gpa for my freshman year in college, so shut the fuck up, and let me relax.  I even told my parent that as long as I graduate I'll be fine, but no, they expect me to be in the top ten of my school, and this is BS.

It funny but if I were to score 3 goal in soccer, or make a winning touchdown, or have my first girlfriend, it doesn't seem to matter in Asian Culture.  All they care about is school and education, and it only been 2 days at home now and I have heard about grade, school, and education at least 20 times already.  I am sick to my stomach, and I feel like hanging myself.

My parents are immigrants here from Asia, so I definitely understand where you're coming from. Maybe more so, because I've never done anything remotely extraordinary school-wise.

It does always seem as if you are never strong, brave, wise enough for them. But I don't think it's fair to hate them. They do love you, underneath it all.

I know the feeling... but in the end, it's only because they know what you're capable of.  But I know how stressful it can be.  For me... it was always that I could do better, even with a 93% average.  Even from my principal... "I don't see you ranking first in the country on math contests".  Well damn... I ranked in the top 4%, but it's no good if I'm not first...?  Just irritating sometimes...

But hey, you need to appreciate your life and be happy.  They're just worried about your future and they want you to use your full potential :).  So while it may suck, sometimes you just have to put up with it.  And in the meantime, enjoy your life :).  Get good marks, AND have a life too :).  It's possible ^__^.

My parents expect me to get A's and 100% all the time.Like that would ever happen! My GPA is 3.8,but they expect something higher. They bug me everyday about studying."Go study. You will never be successfull if you don't study.Like I'm stupid or something".
I understand dude 'cause I feel the same way.The same EXACT way!!But when I get an award or something there's no celebration it doesn't seem to move them. When that happens I just think "you've been pestering me to do all this and when I do it you don't care!!!"

It's true, grades and stuff are important, but that's not all there is to life. I fully understand and half heartedly agree with what your parents are saying, but when you land that dream job, no one is going to care what your GPA was in High School. Your parents want the best out of you..understandable...but in your heart, you have to know there are great things you can do that don't require a Bachelors degree.
