When you say threatening to silence the opposition, are you referring to the fact that he can be very aggressive? Either way, time will tell if he's good or not, but my impression of him has always been that of someone who doesn't take nonsense, which has been all too common over the past few years in the government. Ideally, I would like to see more efficiency in Fianna Fáil, especially when we have milions going to waste in the HSE and millions of litres of water leaking out of Dublin's water system ever year.

The Lisbon treaty woukd have certainly cemented the E.U as a supranational body. Not many of the citizens of the E.U actually want this. Especially not in England. A more Inter-governmental appraoch would appease many of the people who pushed so hard against the Lisbon treaty.
