There isn't really any controversy other than the Vatican attracting attention to Dan Brown's book, Angels and Demons. The Prelude to Da Vinci Code (Interestingly enough, has little to do with the Contents of The Da Vinci Code)

The Vatican Banned the shooting of the film, Angels and Demons. Dan Brown takes you on The Path of The Illuminati.(The Enlightened Ones) The Architectures from a handful of Major Cathedrals around Rome are the symbolism used mainly. Also noting a brief history of conflict between Galileo and The Vatican, Resulting in The Vatican's "Crucifixion" of an alleged member of The Illuminati. The Path of Enlightenment being the result, in order to avoid further embarrassing incidents.

Do you think The Vatican will Ban the Angels and Demons Tours? I'm actually kind of glad they did this because I was afraid it would discourage me from taking the tour on my own. I mainly wanted to see "The Pagan Cathedral". A Church with mainly Pagan oriented architecture.

And would you put it past The Vatican to further alter the placement of Statues, or other architecture?

A Very good book that I enjoyed more than The Da Vinci Code. It introduces readers to a lot of controversial speculation that's out there. Supposedly documented accounts of conflict between The Vatican and Galileo's Posse.

And other major news stations have also reported on this.

I didn't note that The Producers wanted to shoot the film on Site in Rome and The Vatican, who wont allow it. So they can continue with the movie, but it will really render the production pointless since the book takes place in Rome and The Vatican.

The reality of religious adherence and common practice hasn't anything to do with everyone agreeing with everything they say or act; therefore, it'd be inevitable for the Vatican to find someone to condemn them for some arbitrary decision in the past or their choice of occupation writing heretical novels?

I haven't read Deception Point, but I read Digital Fortress. That being the first Dan Brown book I read. I thought it was very interesting, nothing like Da Vinci and A&D though.

And you don't think that the Documented accounts (Let me know if I'm wrong) of The Vatican making a Martyr of Galileo through their means of Crucifixion, which ultimately resulted in the Scholar's Death, could have anything to do with their decision? The Vatican was quoted saying, "It turns the Gospels Upside Down." (FXNEWS) Obviously no one from The Vatican read the Book, as it had nothing to do with The Gospel.

I'll also note, I respect The Vatican's right to deny access to any of their Cathedrals. All Cathedrals around the world being Owned and Operated by The Vatican. All of which accumulate to billions of Dollars worth of Real Estate, Architecture, especially the Structures embroidered in Gold.

Edit: More than any organization/Corporation/government in the World. I'd like to note that The Vatican makes the Highest percentage of Income in the World, infinite Percent Profit. (Yay Communion!)

Maybe the Vatican should say, "We don't want this movie shot because we have too much money and we wouldn't want to have to accept royalties from what would be a multi-million dollar production." :P

After the epic failure that was The Da Vinci Code movie, I'm kind of glad. Angels & Demons was the superior book, however.

i agree. after viciously murdering one dan brown book, you'd think they'd have had enough.

You think the Media is only a tool to screw up books? Don't you think it could be a tool for making the public aware of controversial, unresolved subjects still vigorously debated among scholars? How much do you think the Demographic interest in Religious Controversy increased after The Da Vinci Code debuted?

Do you think it's any coincidence that Important Religious Discoveries have been made as more foundation shaking premises have been introduced? (Such as the discovery of a Cathedral/sanctuary under the allegedly original Christian Church in Jordan.)

The answer is; yes, I believe it's a coincidence, in a way. But,

The problem here is that Dan Brown's works aren't based in any sort of real religious, historical or philosophical theories. Their source material is the equivalent of the National Inquirer. They are fiction and should be taken as such.
