if you have gotten help or counseling for it, how do you keep from going manic after a depression episode?

Lithium, take the medication (I don't have BP disorder).

However if you haven't already talked to a clinical professional then you really should. They can help a lot to properly diagnose your condition and help treat it.

I'm pretty sure that you can't be certain if you actually are bipolar without seeing a professional... there's tons of other things that are similar; having the symptoms isn't exactly having the disorder.

To answer your question, it's really hard without proper treatment. Medication is really a key...

I don't. And I'm stupid enough to be a stoner so I jst make mania worse.

I dunno why I'm responding when I've a counterproductive response. Sorry.

Um... keep away from intoxicating substances, fucking especially if you're on meds, and exercise a lot it'll drain some of the dangerous energy.

You can get specially trained dogs to help avert the episodes, or create some sort of strategy to help distract you when you can feel one approaching.
Or...just take the medication like all the other drug-happy people

dont talk to a professional they dont know shit because its about emotional problems and being a professional in that realm means absolutely zilch

alternatively, find some things that calm you down and really stick to them, and find out why exactly you're 'bipolar'. most of bipolar in my view is because reality is too awful so people go manic to avoid it, then get kicked down when they get a reminder. and if they have little control over themselves this can seem 'random'
