I'm doing more and more paintings on photoshop (a new one is in my IB), but I've noticed that as a sketcher by nature, the results tend to be a bit scribbly. But it's OK, I like that sort of thing. I can appreciate modern art, so long as it has a point.

What's your favourite type of art? OUT OF THESE TWO.
One that is detailed, beautiful and often made of oil, but often doesn't have a real message...
OR
One that is messy and could've done yourself, but with an inspiration or thought behind it.

If I can do it my self it really shouldn't be able to be qualified as art.

I love seeing a painting that makes me think. Basically, has a strong point/message.

it doesn't depend on that, it depends on the actual art, if it looks good, if it has a good meaning... to be honest i like both in the same painting. but its best if its fairly unique

I really don't care much for art. But If I had to choose it'd prolly be the latter.

I think paintings should have a strong mesage within them. Rather then just something pretty.
I think that if you waste so much time thinking about your next art piece it should be one that has a powerful message. rather then something that people glance at. make them think about it.

I would have to go with the second one because I personally like having a meaning behind my work but I think there is a time and place for both sides.

I like both but the thing is there is hidden symbolism in a lot of that art that you would describe as very detailed and meaningless. Just not many people look into it.
