Here's the basis of my problem.
There is this girl I have a crush on, and she is in my last study hall. She is a Freshman, and I am a sophomore(although this is my first year at this school). She was in the school play, as was I, however, that ended around 2 months ago, and nothing happened. However, I will do have a very good excuse for talking to her before summer starts, in 2 days. You see, I am an actor, and have been in one film. Now, during the play's production period, she heard about this(a rather large occurance in my small ohio town) and asked if she could borrow a copy of it. I brought it in on the next practice, and she still has it. She commented on the fact that she saw it and liked it, and was meaning to bring it back, but it hasn't happened yet. Thus, I have a good oppertunity to talk to her tommorow. A few problems though, I'm afraid that because she has to bring it back, she thinks of it as an irratance, an obligation, and associates these feelings with me. That's obviosly no good. On another note, I think it is mildly obviouse that she likes me(alot of glancing during study hall), and I really do like her. I know one of her friends(she rides my bus) and I asked her about this girl's status, I was told she was thinking of going out with someone, but isn't yet. This means I still have a chance. Luckily, the girl I asked is on my side, and may perhaps mention me. Last but not least(well, maybe least) I need to come up with a good way to ask my parents if I can go out on a date with her. They are more or less liberal, but we rarely talk about my opposet-sex social life(not much of one until this point), and it is an odd thing to bring up. For the final note, I would not consider myself shy, and I speak quite well, in my own opinion, however I tend to be to not think of good things to say, and I'm always afraid that I will be to forward when talking to her. Therefor, the short conversations generally become shallow, and I seem either boring or uninterested, which is most definitely not the case. If anyone could please think of anything soon, help would be greatly appreciated, and I would be eternally greatful. :)

First of all, forget about this "irritance, obligation" associated feelings whatever stuff. Don't even worry about it. Now, since you think she might like you and she's available, go for it. No sense waiting around, just do it. As for your parents, if they are fairly liberal as you said, it won't be such a big issue. After you've asked the girl, just tell them "hey, I'm going on a date with <insert name>." Once you said that, they'll be asking all the questions about when, where, and all that, so things will just flow from there. As for the talking to her, don't even worry about it. Just be yourself.
