Actually, it's more like every president between William Harrison elected in 1840 to Ronald Reagan elected in 1980 who was elected on a year that ended with 0 had died in office (not assassinated - big difference). Harrison (1840) died of pneumonia or something, Lincoln (1860) was assassinated, Garfield (1880) was assassinated, McKinley (1900) was assassinated, Harding (1920) died of some medical problem, FDR (1940) died of a medical problem (though it's a stretch since he died in his 1944 term, just as Lincoln died in his 1864 term), JFK (1960) was assassinated, and Reagan (1980) broke this streak (though he did have an assassination attempt on him). By the way, as for the OP, you can find coincidences in so many different things. It's just a matter of which you choose to highlight (what is coincidental) and what you choose to ignore (the majority, which is basically everything else). A classic example of confirmation bias.
