only reason to get a mac is if you want to use it for graphic designing related things, otherwise just get a PC because then the mac will just be an overpriced dust-catcher.

If its just for that, get a mac. You could say its like a baby's first computer because even a baby could use a mac. PC's are really for more advanced users

Macs are PCs, but besides that, Macs are better, For storing images you have the amazing and comes with it free iPhoto, music iTunes. Done.

Not from what Ive experienced. Macs are easy as hell to use, but they dont seem to do much. I have a macbook and I can safely say that it was a mistake.

If thats all you plan to use it for, then both Windows machines and Macs are perfectly fine for this. They both come with a music player/library and hey both come with a photo storage util. Myself i would go for the PC simply as it is cheaper and it's not like you need anything particularly special for these tasks.

PC = if you hate change; if copying and pasting gives you headaches; if sticking with same-old makes you happy Mac = if you like to buy an overpriced gadget with matte finish; if you like a mousepad with one button; if you love Steve Jobs jkjk... I'd say both does an equally good job at these basic functions (internet surfing, music, photos). Personally, I'd go for Mac...the learning curve is easy and once you get used to it, I'm sure that you'll be happy that you made the switch. Recommend the white MacBook with the DVD-burner...probably the best bang for the buck...but I'd wait until after WWDC to see if there will be any updates. Good luck shopping.
