If a deer is just looking pretty and grazing the grass and enjoying life, I'd feel like shit ending its life then and there, and call it a "sport". Its just stupid and totally riduculous. Its things like this that set up back to the times men were sent into colosseum to fight lions and shit. Or bull fighting.

I geuss it depends on the situation as to whether it's a happy deer but I don't think it's exact thought process is "Yay, grass, I love life, life is good." He's probably more concerned about survival, what's going on around him. I can't imagine how stressful being a deer would be. Uh... deer are in the open, we aren't thrown in cages with them? o.O

Its too bad the tables cant be turned & let the animals hunt the hunters. Now that i would love to see.
If hunting is bad... is that not just as sadistic? O.o Quote: from silverbullets at 12:42 am on Oct. 11, 2007
there wouldnt be so much of a problem with overpopulation of animals if we wernt tearing down theyr homes.
Then where are we going to put the humans? It is truly bad that we're destroying habitats, but it still means deer are really overpopulated. And I honestly can't see any way to help a bit with it other than hunting. Quote: from damndude at 12:44 am on Oct. 11, 2007
If you think its okay to hunt for meat, what's wrong with killing kittens and puppies? Using the same form of logic?
There isn't, really. But people keep cats and dogs as pets, so they have emotional attatchments to them and therefore aren't as inclined to kill them. Unfortunately, I suffer from this attacthment too. ;) Quote: from damndude at 12:55 am on Oct. 11, 2007
Its cruel. And unnecessary. Even if you make an average income, alternate foods are available. Especially for americans. Its not a matter of "sustainability". I'd rather limit myself (ie. from torturing and slughtering animals), than perpetuate something I dont necessarily need.

It's done rather humanely. And I wouldn't call it unessecary.
Other boring generic foods are available, but what if you want something else? I like my variety. ;)

A bad system doesn't entitle for abandonment. Personally, I dont want to consume dead shit. Grosses me out. But hey, that's just me. Do what you like.

The hunting system is pretty okay... so if a bad system doesn't entitle for abandonment, a good system does? It is a rather strange thought. But if it wasn't, you'd be eating it alive, which is even stranger.
Keeping in mind, some plants are dead when you eat them, too. ;)
Eating is just gross. =)

I don't agree with hunting. Especially seeing as the deers aren't doing anything wrong.
Well, they do eat crops, and cause accidents on the highway... Quote: from silverbullets at 7:36 pm on Oct. 11, 2007
meat is only one small source of protien. they could survive without any problem without eating meat. protien comes from beans and nuts and soy and stuf like that too. it is also more healthy to not eat meat, because even if meat is clean and fresh, it still has bacteria that your body has to fight off when you eat meat. otherwise you would get sick. that is why some people cant eat meat, theyr bodies cant handel fighting off the bacteria.
Yeah, but it's a good tasty source of protein! =D
Lot's of stuff has bacteria and you don't even know about it. I think there's a reason we were built to fight it off. ;)
