Go to the device manager when it is plugged in, got to the USB list and uninstall it.  Restart comp and try again.

Okay, what hardware are you trying to install?

What operating system are you using?

Did it actually come with a disk, are all of your drivers updated?

It mustnt be compatable with your computer, Because If it was, You generaly wouldnt even need the cd, cause most modern computer come with those drivers (the ones on the cd) pre-installed. Though if you're using a mac, or windows 95/98, they probably use different methods, and #1, the hardware isnt compatable, and #2, The computer mightnt have enough RAM (random access memory, you can buy more if its low on the computer you are using) or Free space for the device to install. Try clearing up some space on your computer, by uninstalling some unneeded programs, or deleting some useless big files. If it still doesnt work, then you'll just have to continue using your other computer

Perhaps, But I honestly see how using that could effect it. Media edition is meant to be used for music etc, So I dont see why your mp3 wouldnt work. Perhaps your computers USB port might be dirty, and is affecting the data being installed from the mp3. Try cleaning it, otherwise, the problem is probably bigger

Try not using the CD at all. When the little balloon on the taskbar comes up, don't click it. Let the installation complete, then go from there.

You need the drivers, which are probably on the CD for it.
