Obviously they see your daily life differently than you do. Likely the truth lies somewhere in between.Maybe you just have to prioritize your activities and goals for your benefit. For instance, (you didn't give any example)maybe they think you could do better in school if you studied more or went for extra help. That would not be wasting time in their eyes, and for you, it would also be a benefit. Unless you think wasting time is time well spend.
