I see white sparks maybe two times a day, usually in the same place in the same eye and they started when I started Effexor...I think. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Not surprised, that stuff has the worse side-effects and definately worse withdrawal effect EVAR.

Don't be surprised if you get to the point where you try eating but can't swallow.

Ask anyone whose ever been on it long-term and they'll say steer clear. The antidepressant effects wear off and you become dependent.

you should call up your psychiatrist or chemist to see what could be wrong.

The withdrawal effects aren't permanent tho, right?

No, it's just very hard to quit.

Yes, it is hard to stop taking them. (It took me a number of months to stop due to side effects of cutting the dose down).

That never happened to me. I was on it for a while. I did not become dependent on it.

I would NOT advise you to steer clear. Keep taking them. It is more important right now that you get better than worry about difficulties stopping them in the future.

I personally only experienced side effects for the first couple of weeks (and this was only feeling nauseous after taking them). Have you only recently started taking them? The side effects may gradually disappear. From memory there is a whole list of possible side effects... have you tried checking the little leaflet inside the packaging? It may also be worthwhile talking to your doctor about the side effects you are experiencing.
