Ctrl+Alt+Delete to unfreeze the program. Then open it up again. Don't try to download that many at a time. Download them in shifts of 10 or 15 songs at a time.
And it is true you can get some viruses from Limewire. So be careful when you are downloading. Pay attention to the file size. There are often times fakes that are the wrong size. So for a song, look for between 2,000 and 4000 kb. The fakes may be somewhere in the hundreds of kb's, and there's also some in the 2000's. The fakes will also have a messed up file name title. Real songs often have the artist, then a dash, then the song title. Fakes will often be all lower letters, no dash, like a run-on. Not always, but its a good rule of thumb.
It is possible to use Limewire/Frostwire without getting viruses. Since I don't use it excessively, and I'm careful about which files I choose, I haven't gotten a virus from Frostwire.
One tip would be, if you are only looking for a single song or two, go ahead find it on Frostwire. If you want an entire album though, a safer (and faster) bet would be to use BitTorrent or Azureus, and get the files from such sites as btjunkie.org or piratebay.org.
