Thinking about ditching my Crown Vic dreams for that of a Volkswagen Rabbit or Jetta. Both come with a 2.5L 5 cylinder 170 hp motor, great on gas, and has more standard options then a car thats 10 times as much money.

So I figure, why not? Kick the monthly payments up 100 dollars, insurance go down slightly, gas per month go down, and probly stay away from modding except for some visual shit.

I'd get the Rabbit... versatility of a hatchback, less weight, looks better (subjective,) cheaper and looks better w/ exterior modifications.

Certainly good cars. Of course, personally, I'd go for the Ford. Not just because its a Ford either, but because its a RWD Ford with a V8. Can't argue. The VW's are pretty good cars though. A lot of bang for the buck, and good on gas (always a plus).

Unfortunately the 2.5 5cyl models are not the most fuel efficient Volkswagens ever produced, but they are far from the worst... it will drink 87 octane and get around 29 to 30 on freeway stretches... in the city with stop and go, some friends are into the teens...

The 2008 Jetta Wolfsburg 2.0T FSI is an enticing package... Kyle, I'd shoot for one of those, they start at under $21,000. Turbo, 6-speed, etc.

Bigger then the Golf/Rabbit, yes. Bigger then a Crown Victoria, not by a long shot.
