It will go back to when you first brought your computer, with only the programs on it that came with your computer, and all your folders, pictures etc will be deleted when you reboot your computer.

if you mean formatting.. well then.. your computer will completely delete everything on your hard disks and you will have to install everything again including your operating system.. only do it if you are completely sure that you want to get rid of everything and that you have your operating system CD with you so you can install it again.

If you want to format also as it deletes everything make sure you backup the things that you want to keep on a removable disc or external hard drive.

Could i ask why you want to format?

Before formatting you could always try defragment.

Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disc Defragment

Disc Defragment re-organises system files so they can become more organised so that the computer should then be able to run more efficiently.

If you want to format because of a virus, have you tried trying to get rid of the virus by scanning your computer?

You could also try this online virus scanner by Microsoft

http://onecare.live.com/site/en-gb/default.htm

Click the full service scan, let it install and scan. It will also scan for spyware that has got onto your system and will help clean up your system of unwanted things like temporary Internet files.

Also if you want to format normally after you have pressed F11 this screen will come up, follow the instructions and click full format or something like that not quick format.
