My laptop is going very slowly, It takes it a good 20 seconds for it to acknowledge that i want it to change task.

say i want to swop between firefox and media player.

It takes a good while to bring the whole programme up when its just sitting in the task bar at the bottom.

Or say i want to go through start and open up a box say for 'My Music' or 'My Computer' It takes ages, usually having to stop the music while it brings it up.

Generally i have. Msn, media player and firefox operating all the time. My memory is barely over 1/4, i clean my C drive out every few weeks and defrag occasionally.

But even if i get rid of all them and go through 'start' its still delayed.

I have 'Norton anti-virus' freshly updated.

It's a toshiba, barely 7 months old. duo processor, windows xp.

I dont have any games on here. I have photo-shop but its never running more than i need it. I have your basic office package.

any ideas??
