I got accepted to a school in chicago to major in musical theatre. I love acting and Its what I want to do. But my parents do not support me and do not want me to leave their house. My mom said shed put me in jail before shed let me go. And they wont give me one dime to go---and they make to much for me to get financial aid.

What can I do?

Get a job? Move out and then you can say on financial aid forms that you're independent (aka not getting money from parents). Apply for scholarships, there's lots of things you can do.

What age are you? if your like 18 upwards then they cant really decide for you, there gonna need to let you go at some point. Get a job then you will have money to go

your lucky my mom wants me gone as soon as possible. She said she was thinking about getting me an apartment when I was 16. But she was just joking but she jokes about that kind of thing alot and I think sometimes she really means it.

Get a job, find some kind of financial aid that can support you, etc. Even though your parents make a lot, there are certain organizations that will give scholarships regardless, and not to mention for the most ridiculous things. A few weeks ago someone came to one of my classes and was talking about a scholarship they were offering for anyone who was Italian and Catholic. They said it didn't even matter what their GPA was as long as it was a C or higher.
