It sounds very interesting, but couldn't they have found a name that doesn't look like "Large Hard-on Collider" at first glance?

Of course it should be turned on.. it's going to be one of, if not, THE most pivotal physics projects in history.

i say no,i dont know much about the macine and how it works but i dont trust other humans enough to toy with space
well now i say yes,as long as the chances for a black hole are low and if one is created, it could be destroyed by turning off the LHC
Look, this thing should hopefully give us great insight into the quantum world, and really RIDICULOUSLY tiny chances of creating a black hole or something are no reason not to press forward. If you're really worried about chances that small, why do you leave your house every day? You take a million bigger risks than that every day.
yes,yes thats why i said if its that low then fine i said no in the first place because i didnt know much on the subject, also yes i know i take chances every miniute even second but those are up to me not someone else

wrong, extrememly dense amounts of matter CREATE black holes. they are funnels between two "layers" of space-time, with exotic matter at the center [super dense] the reason things can not travel through is because of the immensly powerful forces of gravity within them. hence why they are black. the gravity is so immense that not even light can escape. it is not a ball, i do not know where you heard that?... yes, they are supermassive, yes, most are created by hyperdense masses, but NO, lol black holes are not balls of matter.

Actually, at the center of a black hole is a singularity, but I'm sure you already knew that. But, I always envisioned a singularity as a star, a ball you could say, only infinitely tiny. As far as the Hadron Collider is concerned, I say turn the damn thing on already.
