I heard peeing on a cut/wound heals it faster and gets rid of infection, since urine is sterile. Is this true?

Also if anybody could provide a source where I can find out more about this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yea it disinfects it. But only use that method out in the wild or whatever when you can't get to a first aid kit.

First aid kit disinfections should be used first.

As far as I know, urinating on a wound where you've been stung by a jellyfish helps to relieve the pain, but I really don't think it does anything for normal cuts.

Stick with Neosporin.

I've never heard of that, but I've heard of it helping with a jellyfish sting.

But here's what I found:

Oral intake of freshly voided morning urine has been recommended for many diseases such as viral or bacterial infections. Symptoms reported during the first days of oral intake of urine include nausea, vomiting, headache, palpitations, diarrhea or fever. Several substances in the urine are believed to be important for oral intake such as urea, uric acid, cytokines, hormones or urokinase. Local urine therapies include embrocations, compresses for local tumors, whole body bath or foot bath in the urine, use of urine as eye drops, ear drops or nose drops and the use of urine for wound cleaning.

Source

Urine consists of 95% of water, 2.5% of urea and the remaining 2.5% is a mixture of minerals , salts, hormones and enzymes. Only urea , the substance after which urine is named, can be poisonous when present in the blood. However, this is irrelevant in the practice of drinking urine, as urine is not immediately put back in the bloodstream. In small amounts urea gets back into the body, it is purifying, and clears up excess mucus. Urine is entirely sterile after secretion and has an antiseptis effect.

After reading the second article I'm not sure if urine can treat wounds seeing as urea in the bloodstream can be poisonous.  But at the same time, it said small amounts can help clean it out.  But I've heard the same thing about extremely small dosages of bleach.

This definitely helped a great deal, thanks a lot.
