Self-determination is all fine and dandy, but you all are not talking about self-determination when you talk about active euthanasia.  It requires a doctor to judge whether the patient's life is worth living.  What sort of judgment is that?  You can put all sorts of 'conditions' that must be met, but those are all judgments in themselves of what sorts of conditions make someones life no longer worth living.
You might say 'oh well whats so bad about a judgment if it's fair and true?' Well, the problem is that many of these definitions - 'suffering' 'terminally ill' 'pain' - are pretty arbitrary.  No arbitrary standards should draw the line between life and death.  I think that there are certain cases where people should be allowed to be put out of their misery - but we cannot make a law out of it to allow it.  Too many abuses, not enough standard control.

It should be allowed only when a patient is in agony and is beyond recovery. It is humane as it stops the suffering i think.

I think even if somebody can get better they should still have the right. It's their life and they should have full control over it.

I don't know what to think.  I'm of the belief that it's God's right and God's right only to decide when a person should die, but then again, thinking of someone in agony is horrible.  It seems cruel to keep anyone in pain, therefore I'm thinking that if the doctor thinks it's the right decision, the family does, and the patient expressed wishes of it, then I guess it should be used.

Only voluntarily and they should wait a week after volunteering because i heard story's about 1 day depressions and wanting euthanasia for one day.

Should be longer than a week. And there should at least be a history.

How long then? and you mean a history of the person feeling like this?

Long enough.
And yes, a history of depression. Untreatable depression that has led them to trying to kill themselves before.
Not 'depression' that has come along just because your lover left you or you lost your job. Those aren't reasonable reasons to want to end your life.

euthanasia is not for the depressed people.

it's for anyone who chooses to take advantage of it. If they are refused....they should do it unassisted. Their life, their freedom.

If you have the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Then shouldn't you have the right to death.  If you want to die, you should have the freedom to, and if you feel like you have to much pain to be happy in life then maybe the pursuit of happiness is the pursuit if death.  Euthanasia is the epitome of these three inalienable rights if you think about it.
