A Given Theistic Religion is True

The argument or line of arguments I am going to try and debunk is the argument that a given theistic religion is true.

There are several objections to this argument:

They cannot all be true because of their sheer diversity. Even if we knew that one of them was absolutely true, it would still be the multiple choice test of 'God'. Then all believers would be punished after death purely by probability.

The other problem with advocating for the truth of any give theistic religion is that the evidence is either terrible or nonexistent. This overtake all  arguments for the existence of certain deities, holiness of certain books, miracles and so on.

As a theist, why and how do you advocate that your particular theistic religion is true?

Who do you think Jesus Christ is?

There was a man who cured the sick, performed miracles, was called the son of God and rose from the grave three days after his death. His name was Apollonius of Tyana and he was not unique. We ask why so many preachers and supposed miracle workers appeared by the Mediterranean around the 1st Century AD and why the cult of Jesus won out in Rivals of Jesus.

The evidence suggests that he is nothing different from, say, Apollonius of Tyana.

I think Jesus is a cult leader who managed to get people to spread his twisted ideas during a time when people needed something useless to believe in. It's sad how logic hasn't caught up to humanity in the past thousands of years that this idiotic religion has been around...

Apollonius haha come on, ask a historian how credible those sources are, and measure up the material vs the material about Jesus Christ.
And why throw Dan Brown into it, he confessed to be writing a fictional story to entertain not to inform

Exactly. The sources for the miracles of Apollonius as for those of Jesus. This is in no way connected to Dan Brown by the way.

Simply a lack of evidence and the fact that non-believers will go to hell doesn't exactly serve as a good way to show that no religion can be true.

A lack of evidence of religions could be used to show it's retarded to believe in them.

They cannot all be true because of their sheer diversity. Even if we knew that one of them was absolutely true, it would still be the multiple choice test of 'God'. Then all believers would be punished after death purely by probability.

But some could be partially true. Hinduism allows for belief in other gods, as they're taken as manifestations or representations of Brahman anyway. Hinduism as a theistic religion could be true. The idea of punishment after death for non-belief is very particular to two religions, and it's unfair of you to class all theism in with those two.
