Either... A. You need new speakers. or... B. You need a new sound card. But no, it's not your computer.

New speakers probably won't do anything. You can try using different speakers to rule them out though. The problem could be the sound card. You should try re-installing the sound card driver. If you re-install the sound card driver, and the problem persists.. It's possible, but very unlikely, that the hard drive of the system is failing. Sure, it's uncommon, but the same symptoms showed on my computer, and that turned out to be the problem.

It doesn\'t sound like she installed the sound card herself. Also, if the sound card wasn\'t compatable with the computer, it never would have worked in the first place. Turn off the system. Turn it back on, and before you see the Windows screen, press F12. Key down to Diagnostics, and it\'ll run a quick scan. Once it\'s finished, it\'ll bring you to a screen with a few selections for a diasnostic scan. Select \"Express Test.\" It test\'s everying in your computer like the video card, sound card, fan, hard drive, etc. It could help you find out what\'s wrong.

Sounds more like the computer running slowly to me, and causing the music to skip. may just be full of crap, maybe a defrag might help a bit.
------- Anyone who isn't confused really doesn't understand the situation http://craigk.org/pictures/ Can you work out the code?
