I applied for financial aid but only recieved a relatively small amount because I wrote down that I recieved $77 back for income tax.
Scholarships? I recieved nothing but a $600 golf scholarship which was worth squat due to high tuition and book costs.

Thankfully, having brains have helped me pay for college. I was accepted into an Honors Program which funds a $20,000 scholarship ($2,000 a semester) considering you stay at a 3.0 gpa or higher throughout your college years.
Congratulations to me

So...how have you payed for college? Are loans really worth applying for?

Well, if you keep a 3.5 and take SAT prep and score a 1200+ you can get like 5 scolarships... I really want to go to SCAD but it's really exspensive.... I MAY be able to afford it.

Yeah plus you don't pay back your loans till you're earning a certain amount.

My financial aid + scholarship + a small loan (three thousand a year) will pay for all of my tuition and then a little more for books and such.

I got $30,000 in scholarship a year, but still have to pay more than most people out of pocket to cover the rest... :\ $12,000 in tuition and room and board, plus $4,000 in meal plan, and about $1000 in airfare/train/taxi to and from my school. That's not counting any spending money and books.

The first time around my parents and I just got loans.  Now that I'm 24, I got some financial aid, and I also got lucky enough to have a job that is willing to pay for my classes.

So if I get an A, they'll pay for everything except my books :)

If I get a B, they'll pay 80%, and they'll pay 50% if I get a C.

I am still in high school, but I have the general finance situation worked out.

My parents paid for a Pre-Paid college program which is available in Florida, which pays for a majority of each credit.  Florida also has a Bright Futures scholarship program which covers a majority of college costs for students with a certain gpa and sat score.

Both of these are largely contingent upon attending a public university, but i plan on doing so.

All the minor details will be worked out later; I do have a job that could help with other expenses.
