I agree with The Oath. For whatever reason, the pictures seem to come out smaller both in the topic, and in the image previews from the Image Baskets. His certainly looks better after you view it in full size, after clicking on the image itself in the preview. Much more detail, too.

The Oath's picture is a nice enough, however it looks to be too Photoshopped.

I'm quite fond of Myystic's submission, to be honest.

I just dramatically decreased the saturation, making it black and white, and increased the contrast of the whole photo; I stayed within the guidelines.

Ooooh, look, a minor.

...I think I'll stop now.

EDIT: You can't see the little girl's face, and I have permission from her parents (and her) to post it anyhow. The other picture is linked so that David can keep his arse covered.

Even the names of you childhood relics are relatively unconventional.
Mine, on the other hand, is named Brownie.

The childhood favorite was named Mr. Pink Bear. I'm not sure if that was my doing or my parents', however.

Brownie is kind of into his third generation now, so the name is more of a tradition.

By the way, I think photoshop creations are perfectly legitimate works of art. It's just like any other tool: it can be used masterfully and creatively to create a masterpiece, or clumsily and tritely to create an eyesore. Even if it is only used to edit photographs, it's just as viable a component as any other.

In all honesty, I do actually consider Photoshop to be a productive media. I really hadn't in the past, but I have a friend who is absolute wonders with it and swayed me over it. However, most of the LiveWire Photoshoppers are terrible and only produce complete pieces of shit that I don't want to be bothered with. There are a few people here with a knack for it, but it's just like the poetry, the bad highly outweighs the worthwhile.

Edit: Another thing is, almost anything done with Photoshop can be done with what might be refered to as conventional mediums, which I prefer and hold in higher regard than most Photoshop works.

Pity. My poetry and photoshops *coughmyavatarisawesomesorryMagrittecough* are so much better than my photography.
