So my place of employment is looking to get something new, mainly because the server doesn't have a virus program on it or something like that, so that is doing wonders for us. So haha. So to make a long pointless story short the computer guys that are going to be helping us set up our wireless static ip crap suggested that we get the Corporate Antivirus... Well each license is roughly $50 a piece... We would need at least 8, well correction 9 so lets round up to 10. So there is $500. With AVG which appears to do the exact same thing including firewall, so does symantec but the cost is literally half that $250 for 10 licenses. I do use AVG at home and it works wonders always updating it's great and if something needs to be updated it tells me by turning grey instead of popping up and interfering when I am in the middle of something. At work I have Norton, not my favorite, it always has a damn red x and I always see the Norton thing... But whatever I'm not in charge of the company, but any who... Back on topic... AVG vs Symantec... They have used Norton for a while now so I don't know if they would want to be up for the change. But if the boss wants to save money then I say go for it, especially with all the wireless cards and crap he is going to need to get for the other bright idea that is going on at work now, which I shall go post that next. I tend to prefer AVG out of those two. I would recomend though, if you are willing to pay, (or your boss : P ) then Ad-Aware, combined with NOD antivirus works fantastically. NOD updates almost everyday, and gets rid of loads of nasties. You can set it up on a network. You have a "submit for analysis" option. Really, NOD is the shit.

I'm going with AVG all the way, concidering the possibilities I'm about to mention..: 1)Symantec's products have a serious problem where there programmes are a huge source of memory eaters, but can produce good effects to the systems security. 2)AVG has been known to be just AS good but doesn't use much memory atall. 3)AVG is totaly free, which is a big factor that no-one gets, It's free and can produce the sam effects.?? 4)Software like Nortons etc, they focused on putting to much fancy graphic in there software, which could be a huge factor of why it eats so much memory just to have loaded. There my 4 factors on these two products. But AVG for me. It seems logical at this point concidering if you run a Poll on this, most of the answers would be with AVG also mainly because the points I mentioned above. Thanks ATI.

I hate anything made by Symantec. Right now i have Norton Ghost, and PC Anywhere. When i put both of those programs on here, they each had 4 startup processes that did nothing at all, just wasted memory and cpu. Ghost even had a tray icon for some dumb reason.. its an imaging program! Anyhow, get AVG simply because i hate symantec.
