so, you're getting a scholarship just because you're black? if that's the case then why shouldn't it be used for black universities?

common down i mean it's not that serious. i mean work your but off then you don't have to worry about that. Those are not the only school's you can apply to. so breath. Don’t take it like that. If you don't want to attend it why should you care. Your sounding very ignorant.

Im not applying for these scholarships because i dont want to go to those schools. i was simply stating that the majority of the minority scholarships i could apply to, I can't because of that rule.

it used to be ok to have the HBCU only rule..but now more and more black are attending colleges that are not HBCU's.

I am very tempted to agree with this. Colleges these days are very into diversity, and are doing whatever they can to have a high population of minorities. Despite this, there are still a number of scholarships available for minority students, yet no white-only scholarship opportunities. You may say that minorities have the disadvantage, yet my high school is about 30-40% white. All the "minorities" going to my school have access to the same education as me, yet they will be able to check off that they are black or hispanic on a college application. If you want to apply for a race-based scholarship, go to a race based school. If you want to go to a school that is not one of these HBCUs, apply for a scholarship that is open to everyone, including whites. Play fair.
