My boyfriend is 20 and im 17.
Next june when i turn 18 my mom and older brother are moving up to N. Carolina. My mother and I have already talked it over, and I most likely will be staying here with my boyfriend who @ the time will be 21. I started looking @ a few little like 1-2 bedroom houses in my moms home magazines and i pointed out a few to my boyfriend (ps. we are very serious) He completely laughs @ the idea and calls me stupid for even considering buying a home @ 18.

Is it that strange for 2 people 18 & 21 or even 19 & 22 to buy a small home together? If so... why?

18, but than moving back every summer. I'd say permanent moving out would be like 22 or 23.

There's no real average age. I'll be moving out when I'm 19 to live in a totally different country for university, but I know people over 25 who still live at home, so it just depends for different people.

Sad thing is, my sister is 22 and still hasn't moved out.

Damn her.

Depends I would say, most people in my family did when they were around 18-20 though. Then again my sister lives with her Dad and shes 25, but she has lived else where before and has just come back, as she needs a roof over her head, so thats a bit different.

I mean like perminatly moved out. gone forever. never coming home. I guess it matters how dependent you are, cause he's really dependent on his parents. (just started paying for his car payments when he turned 20) he doesnt pay for his own insurance.

and im already paying both of mine.

It depends on the person. If they are ready to move out fully or not. There are some people who move away and then move back in for the summer and then move away agian. This going on for a few years. There are others who move away and stay away living in their own house but make a lot of visits.

I remember reading somewhere that the average age for moving out is 24... im guessing this is for Australia only cause it was an australian paper.

Guess most people live at home n go to university, moving out after they get a job.

Im planning on moving out next year... @ the age of 20 to go to university.

Ok, how about without the whole university.

He is currently enrolled into a specialty school, and i want to go to one too. No 4 year college or university, I mean like truly completely move out, not go to college TOTALLY DIFFERENT.
