Seeing as how I have pretty much no experience with image editing programs, nor do I wish to learn at this point in time, I call upon ye members of livewire to help me out.

See this picture?

I want you to to make it bigger, 1280x1024 pixels top be exact, whilst keeping its original quality intact (or improving, if you wish).  I dont want a crappy blurry/fuzzy picture.  If you can accomplish this, and post the image (or a link to the image) in this thread,  I will transfer 250 reward points to your account for your services.

Thanks in advance,
-meph

Having exhausted my range of Photoshop know-how, I've come to the conclusion that it's impossible to scale such a small image up to a much larger size without sacrificing some quality. If there's a way to do it, I sure as hell don't know about it.

The best I could do was:

(As a side note, if anyone betters this, do tell me how).

The source image has exactly 47,000 pixels in it.  The image you want (a 1280*1024 version) has 1,310,720.  It's impossible to simply pull 1.26 million pixels out of thin air.

However, as a source for the missing pixels, I chose the next best thing: Google images.  I found a bigger version (640*480) that had some icons on top of it, but I used my supreme editing skills to get rid of them.  Then I resized it to 1280*1024 (which still has four times the number of pixels in the original, so it doesn't look perfect even though I resized it to the best of my ability).

Thanks a bunch!!!  Thats is much closer to what I'm looking for.  I know what picture you're talking about (with the icons), its a screenshot of a OS X desktop right?  I just dont have the editing savvy to make it the way I want it.

Yeah, that's the one.  The only other one I found was this but it's more grainy and isn't exactly the same as the other one (parts toward the left are missing and there aren't reflections which were present in yours).
