You're correct. We should probably go with myth-like morality tales over things that are testable, repeatable, and can successfully be used in predictions.
Can you prove to me that our entire existence isn't a sort of video game of a greater universe/realm?
Can you understand what science is for? Understanding our reality. If our reality lives in the dreams of a space-faring platypus, or the pocket of an extradimensional hobo, or a computer, that doesn't matter.
If you try to disprove beliefs using science, particularly calculations and estimations, you in fact are in need of a reality check, because science fails more times every day than Yankee has allegedly failed.
If you try to disprove beliefs about things that happened in the physical world using "the way the physical world works," then you're just some sort of wacky douchebag. Seriously. Everyone knows that science doesn't know anything. That is why nothing based on science works. Shit like energy involved in evaporation can't be tested, and everyone knows there is no way to tell what can and can not kill a fish. The planet does not have the necessary amount of kryptonite to even scratch a single guppy: True fact.

I don't mean to say we should convey other means besides science. I made a point that no matter what you do with science, it will never disprove belief in a higher power, and the actions taken by it.
