beware AMD users, this worm is new and was discovered a few weeks ago, A worm called w32.bounds and w64.bounds are basically the first virus that ever infects an amd processor. Once you get this virus on your processor there is no way to delete it off your processor(even thought you format your hard drive), since there is no programs yet available likely to delete viruses off your processor. this virus is at low risk anyways. Since now that AMD processor gets infected the virus makers would most likely to develope to attack processors now that the secret has been revealed!

Just to warn you guys.

Wait, how can you have viruses in a processor?  That dosn't make any sense.

it's very complicated to understand somehow the virus maker some how broke into the processor kernel and found a way around the kernel protection. so they written a code based for processor code only. I don't really understand how they figure out these things.

EDIT: It's like downloading a virus on a hard drive but when you have the virus somehow it gets attached to the processor's memory

Hackers are extrordinarily smart people.

I want to be one someday :)
Not actually doing any damage, because that's just wrong whatever way you look at it.

But to be able to do stuff like that.  To look at a system and know it better than the people who designed it so you can see things that they didn't think of.

Anyway, sry for obsessing.  Do you have a link that tells more about this?

this is actually where i found out i mainly found it out from digg.com but on here seems like no one has posted that this processor is now likely to be infected. so i thought i'd post something unusual and new.

Sorry, that doesn't work. I read the article you posted, and you seriously misinterpreted it.
What the virus does is execute instructions (I think assembly, though since I'm not well-versed in low-level languages, it could probably be considered lower level than that even) on such a low level that it bypasses the kernel itself (which is pretty incredible).

Of course, as a real virus it's almost worthless because it would only work on specific processors/hardware, which seriously limits the virus's ability to spread.

Edit: the interesting bit, though, is that since it can bypass everything, that means it probably wouldn't matter what OS you were using- be it Linux, Windows, or Mac.

READ THE ARTICLE. It's a proof-of-concept, not an actual active virus.
