I have as of recently noticed the children's show called "Boobah" on PBS. It seems harmless, to be sure, but upon watching for a few minutes I noticed something. Everything in the show was completely sequential. There were sequential and repeated dances. Also, the show displayed segments of about 5 minutes of a child repeating the same action over and over, except in different places on the screen. This, to me, seemed somewhat odd, so I continued to watch, to see if things would change. Throughout the entire duration of the show, all it was was sequential and repeated segments. Also, they would show segments of colors blipping or swirling on the screen. I have caught the show a few more times since the first time I saw it. It has occurred to me that I have often heard of people being made to watch sequential movements or blips of color to engage them in hypnotism or mind control. Has anyone in this forum done any research on hypnotism or mind control that could lend to my suppositions. Perhaps I am overreacting, but for some reason, this show seems like it could be a potentially dangerous pastime for young children. I have spoken to many parents about it, and they always say that they become worried when their children watch the show. Their children always become mentally unreachable during their viewing, and many parents have said that it seems that their children are hypnotized.

I have looked at hypnotism. I was a weird young boy, and thought I'd be cool to try it on people. From what I've seen and experienced, it seems to be nothing more of an extension of the placebo effect. One thinks they are supposed to be hypnotized and following orders, when infact they don't have to be. But because they think they should follow along, they do. There's no real control. The actual trace aspect does work, though. Its just getting very relaxed. You can get a similar result from watching a video of Bob Ross (at least for me). Control through hypnotism is essentially bullshit, but achieving a state of trance through hypnotism is not.
I've tried the same and it's never worked significantly, as you said likely the placebo effect. It is likely for a mind-controlling pill to be made, someone is much more likely to obey a command when they're under the influence.

To be morons?
The existance of Dramatic23 and phragit is suddenly explained!
Jokes on you, I didn't watch tv as a kid and my statement was based entirely off fact; I have the senate transcript about it. It's from the 70's, but Ted Kennedy was hopping mad, he though MKultra was used to kill his brother. I have copies of a few other declassified CIA documents on it if you need more information.
You have declassified CIA documents about Ted Kennedy being an idiot?
.............about mkultra....one is Kennedy's investigation and the rest are the "remnants" of the investigation, it literally took half of the CIA's budget for half of a decade, it's kind of hard to deny........
