Robert A. Heinlein.

I love heinlein, stranger in a strange land should be required reading for every person when they turn 18.

My favorite author right now is probably

Tolstoy, Anna Karennina makes me feel warm and fuzzy

There are so many authors I enjoy...it would take so much space to list all of them. I'll list a few...or more.

Chuck Palahniuk- The man is amazing. If you've never read his books...go check out Invisible Monsters. Or Fight Club....which is also a wonderful movie.

JK Rowling- I had to say it. The woman's a genius.

Stephen King - Not so much for his horror(of which I've read practically everything and greatly enjoy them) but, for The Dark Tower series. A fantasy westernish/quest that's the core of all his other books. Seriously, you can find a reference, a character or something from practically every other book he's ever written in this series.

Phillip Pullman- His Dark Materials. 'Nuff said.

Anne Rice - Her books are beautiful. The Vampire Chronicles. Interview with the Vampire was also made in to a great movie. Queen of the Damned made me want to pull out my hair and send very angry letters. If you've seen this movie...don't judge the books based on it. Anne Rice had nothing to do with it.

There's so many more it isn't even funny.
