Due to me being a twat and not reading the post properly my edited response.

IDE even SATA Storage is very cheap at the moment. What concerns me is that if you only have GB in the PC at the moment and that was as new how do you know the PC is up to running the SIMS? It seems to me that the PC must be a fair few years old now. Check you have enough RAM & CPU power also.

After reading the posts, especially the last few by the OP, I'm pretty sure it's HD space, not a flashdrive, and not RAM.
