PEOPLE WHO DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD

-it feels pretty bad to be utterly useless in the universe.
-To only be created by random scientific events
-to never be truly and totally loved by any one
-to never know your set purpose and goal
-never being able to explain anything at and before the beginning of anything
-to have a gaping black hole in the core of you being... always sucking in your feeling of wholeness and purity
-to know.. no matter what you do.. you can never be forgiven

This is your fate if you don't believe in god

Not The god ( bible version) but a god.. a supreme being of some kind

Wow.  I don't believe in God and none of those things describe me.

- I know that my consciousness has a use.
- I know that the universe's creation wasn't "random," but it wasn't consciously directed, either.
- I am loved by many.
- I know what the goal and purpose of my life is.
- haha I can explain the beginning.
- yeah the black hole statement is rubbish anyway
- Forgiveness is subjective and dependant on only yourself.

wow.  Someone doesn't know Shit.

u know, if there was no bible, i doubt there would be gods
what about the gods that existed before even the first pages of the old testament were conceived, before Judaism even a concept.

People have a right to their own beliefs.  It isn't your place to be telling them they will evaporate into a sinful mist when they die.  That's creepy.

not true at all.  Every one of us makes a difference. People accomplish great things.  all of the scientists philosphers and inventors who ever lived, lived for something and were meaningful. And even if we dont get remembered in a few hundered years we make a difference through the lives we touched and influenced or even created.

I could see that.  But, at the end of the day, everybody dies.  Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.  Even if you invent something magnificent, in one hundred years, what good will it do to you?

I agree with the OP.  I don't understand how atheists live with themselves, knowing that no matter what they do, no matter what they say, they won't really make a difference because according to them, everybody dies eventually, ashes to ashes, dust to dust.  No matter what you accomplish, it will all be for nothing.

And religious sheep wonder why we hate them so much...

I try to be openimnded about other relgions, but fuck, when you start getting personal like what you said and especially what the OP said, it's hard not to be angry and hateful.

Get over it, we all have different belief systems. How dare you fucking tell me my life is worthless and purposeless because I don't believe in some imaginary being? How dare you have the nerve to even begin saying that!

Go fuck yourselves, all of you.

1) Many atheists do not believe that when they die it is the end of everything. Take a look at Buddhism or Jainism, for example.

2) For those who doesn't, there's no you for it to do anything for. You're gone. It doesn't matter if everything crumbles, because you don't exist anymore. So while you're here it kicks the shit, and that's all that matters.

Exactly.  How is that NOT a sadistic belief?  That after you live you're life, you're just...gone, that there's no hope of ever talking to your loved ones, no hope of ever experiencing emotion, no hope of ever feeling happy?

ever since I had an inckling of the idea of death I thought of it that way... its seriously not a big deal if you are used to the idea. Its like a deadline pushing you to do what you can whilst you still have power to do so.

Oh no! Not everything's perfect! The world isn't permenant! Let's go kill ourselves!

or

Meh. That's how the world works. Anyone else want to go out for lunch?

The world isn't fair. Relationships sour and turn ugly. Bad shit happens. We deal. Some people believe in more happiness than others, but the lack of the sprinkles on top does not disqualify one from leading a meaningful, pleasurable life.

I notice that you didn't respond to my first point.

Well..living after you die going to heaven living happy forever after after you lived a life being a closed-minded hypocrit for just beleaving in something sounds nice, but not probable.

I would hardly classify Buddhism and Jainism as atheist

I don't think you're grasping the concept.  If you're an atheist, then everyone will ultimately die and stop existing.  At the end, there is no hope of ...well, anything.

I would, presuming I knew what the definition of atheist was and knew that there is no god(s) in Buddhism or Jainism.

And? To atheists, that's just how the universe works. You enjoy your life while it lasts. And then, to sleep, perchance to dream (except no dreaming).
