The truth is is that i could care less if there is a god or not. I've heard all of the sunday school stories and something just isnt right and now I am sure. 1) First off, if "God" is perfect and knows everything, why would he create us if he is perfect, doesnt perfect mean you are complete and dont need anything and you dont get bored, lonely, unloved or whatever reason he created us? Perfect things shouldnt feel any emotions. God creates us and apparently we arent perfect, how can a perfect thing create not perfect things? 2) I remember our pastor mentioned something about the Devil used to be in heaven and he was thrown out only to wreak evilness on human beings, um doesnt that mean since God knows our past present and future before we are even born that he knew the Devil would turn against him and turn evil? And see number one because if the Devil was created by God and turned against God, that right there says hes not so perfect, right? 3) God says if someone in your family is sick then ask (pray) and he will cure them, little kids are dying every day from sickness and their parents are praying to whatever God might help them, thats very nice of a loving God. 4) This is what really gets me, this whole thing with sin and Adam and Eve eating a stupid fruit that "God" created and a snake that "God" created to tempt Adam and Eve into eating it. See number one again to because God knows everything meaning before the universe was even created he already knew Adam and Eve were gonna do that, that is a bunch of bull if we are being punished and sent to a burning place when God already knew it was gonna happen 5) I've about had it with church people saying its "free will" that sin is in the world. Theyre always saying sin is why innocent people die, children die, wars break out, diseases spread, etc. but nobody ever looks and points at God and says hey God created the devil, Adam and Eve, that fruit they werent supposed to eat, and that snake that tempted them, but automatically its all humanities fault because God brainwashes you into thinking it was Adam and Eves freewill that made them do it. He created them that way! This makes me wonder if this God is as good as he said he is why did he create evil things like the devil..? that was not meant to sound smart at all, but when i used to go as a little girl i remember a lot of the stories they tried to cram into my head, and now that im older it really doesnt make sense at all, its actually unfair to us, and you people that want to worship a hippocrite, finger pointing, judgmental God, go right ahead, but dont expect me to follow, I guess I'll be going to hell then, wait does hell even exist?? A loving perfect God couldnt have possibly created such an evil place. Post edited at 6:41 pm on Sep. 18, 2006 by AliciaGordon

-it feels pretty bad to be utterly useless in the universe.
Who defines useless? I do, to some extent, and the people around me do to some extent as well.
-To only be created by random scientific events
If you are referring to evolution and planetary formation and suchlike, I have no problem with them, regardless of how I got here, life is good, I want to stick around being alive for as long as possible.
-to never be truly and totally loved by any one
Where did that come from, being loved or not loved has no relevance to any thing else here. Anyhow, false statement, you made there.
-to never know your set purpose and goal
I decide my goals and purpose, and I am perfectly OK with not having any particular purpose other than what purpose I want to have, I like my freedom.
-never being able to explain anything at and before the beginning of anything
I have no problem with not knowing stuff either, There is lots we dont know, it is better to admit that we dont know, rather than to conjure up bullshit explanations with no basis in fact
-to have a gaping black hole in the core of you being... always sucking in your feeling of wholeness and purity
Huh? I have no gaping hole inside of me, what the fuck are you on about?
-to know.. no matter what you do.. you can never be forgiven
Forgiven by whom? If I do bad to someone, and they dont want to forgive me, then that is their choice, I should try not to bad to people. Forgiving other people makes one a better person, though, and is generally a healthy thing. Post edited at 12:14 am on Sep. 19, 2006 by Macropiper

1) First off, if "God" is perfect and knows everything, why would he create us if he is perfect, doesnt perfect mean you are complete and dont need anything and you dont get bored, lonely, unloved or whatever reason he created us? Perfect things shouldnt feel any emotions.
We weren't created because God needed us. We were created for God's glory. He wants us to be in a loving relationship with him and glorify him in what we do. Why shouldn't a perfect being feel emotions?
2) I remember our pastor mentioned something about the Devil used to be in heaven and he was thrown out only to wreak evilness on human beings, um doesnt that mean since God knows our past present and future before we are even born that he knew the Devil would turn against him and turn evil? And see number one because if the Devil was created by God and turned against God, that right there says hes not so perfect, right?
That does not mean God is not perfect, that means the Devil was not perfect. The Devil put pride and greed before God. God created people in a state that allows them to turn to God, or turn away.
3) God says if someone in your family is sick then ask (pray) and he will cure them, little kids are dying every day from sickness and their parents are praying to whatever God might help them, thats very nice of a loving God.
Your prayer must be inline with Gods plan. Prayer isn't just a blank check where you can ask for anything and you get it, even if the prayer is to help somebody else. You talk about all the sick and hungry children of the world, so you know about them, what are you going to do about it. Perhaps it is Gods plan for you to help them, but you just sit there and say 'why doesn't God fix it?' If God fixed everything, we would never develop as people, we could never become better.
4) This is what really gets me, this whole thing with sin and Adam and Eve eating a stupid fruit that "God" created and a snake that "God" created to tempt Adam and Eve into eating it. See number one again to because God knows everything meaning before the universe was even created he already knew Adam and Eve were gonna do that, that is a bunch of bull if we are being punished and sent to a burning place when God already knew it was gonna happen
You are limiting God to linear time. For all we know, God may look at all of our time as one.
5) I've about had it with church people saying its "free will" that sin is in the world. I guess you could call it brain washing, but if its the truth then you don't really have an argument.
A loving perfect God couldnt have possibly created such an evil place.
God does not send people to Hell, people send themselves to Hell. Additionally, Hell isn't always interpreted as simply a place of eternal torture, but rather, Seperation from God. This Seperation from God is thought to be like torture as there is no satisfaction or rest, because those things can only be found in God. Post edited at 12:53 am on Sep. 19, 2006 by IamfromOZ

Why does noone accept "Hell" was supposed to be taken iliterally? Besides even if it was literal god would of had to make it wouldn't he?
