Okay I personally believe in god, but I totally disagree with you. Just because someone doesnt believe in god, doesn't mean they feel useless. It doesnt feel bad at all to be created by a few random scientific events. I don't actually care, and even if I did, I'd actually feel special humans were a one in a trillion chance. You may disgaree, but millions of people feel truly known and loved by thier partners. We may not be able to explain it all, but, again, millions of people are fascinated by these events and take great interest and joy in studying them. Far from feeling bad. People who don't believe in god don't feel a huge black hole. you might think they do, but believe it or not, even atheists can feel pure. And if there is no god, we don't need to be forgiven by a higher power. We can be forgiven by the people our actions have consequences on.

I have a problem with the "random scientific events" line, that problem being that science isn't random, really. I think it's pretty cool to think about how there is this beautiful, natural, scientific order to the world. Perhaps there's probabilities at work, but overall there's this big, prevailing, guiding hand of science at work. It's about as cool as a god, I'd say. Think about that: by some miracle - a miracle we can empirically describe and test and understand - the universe is kept in check. It fills my heart with curiosity and happiness, not darkness. I feel like skipping down the street now, into the sunset.
