Alright, so based on the replies to my last topic (HERE), we've basically concluded that America WILL fall, as all democracies eventually do.

My next questions for you would be:

1.  When do you think America will meet its demise? Do you think we'll witness a revolution or uprising in America in our lifetime?

2.  Do you think America is on the decline right now? Or do you think we have yet to see the best of times?

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

1) Well, during the time of the World Wars and the Great Depression we thought we'd never be able to stand back up again, thus dying out. Yet we did. I do not really believe we'll witness an uprising anytime soon, it seems our government is stable, well, as stable as its ever been since the Constitution. The way we're set up prevents many known revolutions. Like throwing the King out of a falling monarchy, the only way to achieve that is to use chaos and an uprising and face death to kill the Kind and his family. For us, all we'd have to do is kick out our lame ass President for whatever hes done.

Now something like the Rennaisance might be a little different, where the human race realizes theres much more to this world than what we see. If we were to find out tomorrow that the government created fake religions and viruses such as AIDS to control the population and how they act, or if our Constitution was stripped and we were treated like animals for whatever reason, now that would cause an uprising against the entire government. I can't see that happening but you know...its very possible. But especially after 9/11, we saw Americans bond together. As long as our Presidents don't get stupider by the leap year, I think we're fine.

2) I'd have to say that we're at quite a balence right now but we see a decline on the horizon. We have advanced so much and more and more people have become loyal to their country. But, for example, the nuclear arms race is destroying our reputation in this world. We run in to stop people from making nuclear weapons yet we have a million ourselves. Now I can understand if we should get a weapon out of the hands of a man who would use it carelessly, but any of our allies could immeadiatly launch one without warning. This world is filled with secrets. We are not liked in many places.

The population is beginning to boom and it seems we're being crammed, fuel is becoming less and less abundent and we're a very...socially dependent. If all of a sudden the government declared, no more computers, we'd be pretty screwed if you asked me. Thats computers for desktops, work, in smart TV's and washing machines, school files and hospital files....so much of our world is based around storing 0's and 1's. Or the other way...we could advance to the point where computers do abseloutly everything for us, and the human race as we know it has reached a point where its utterly pointless to live anymore. Honestly, I don't think we'll be seeing anything amazing soon. We're doomed one way or another but hey...life is good while it lasts. (:

..Does that make any sense or am I just rambling due to little sleep? :P :P :P
