Test for getting into this forum

I am 15 years old, and I  just passed the test, on the first try. I don't consider myself to be a perticularly smart person (or more than average in any way)... and when I came into this forum I was kind of overwhelmed by the topics, I did not know very much about any of them. Is the test too easy?
But then, I know of some people saying that they have taken it over 5 times and have not passed, and they are older than me.
Just wondering what other people thought about this....

I have always said that anyone who could type and breath at the same time should be able to pass that test.  However, several people cannot restrain themselves from making a smilie face out of the dots in the multiple choices.

I thought the test was just to filter out the people who can't spell and can barely form an intelligible sentence. I took the test and passed first go without thinking.

I think this place is flooded with useless random stuff that can fit in other forums.

yeah, the test doesn't actually force you to be an intellectual, it just ensures your answers will be intelligible.
Of course, the topics are more intellectual because the topic starters think they'll get more intelligent replies, and that it is worthwhile.

I was suprised by the test too. I thought it was going to be challenging and make you think. I guess not. Maybe they just want to make sure you're able to spell and everything before you come in.

It isn't a remarkably difficult test.

Abs's term for it, "retard filter," is pretty apt. Although, I'm sure there are some decent people who are just having bad luck with it. Statistics, and all.

The test is very easy. I passed it first time on the old test, the test that had a bit more general knowledge required. Even then I found it hard to comprehend that people would not know enough of the simple details about the world around them to pass.

I think it is too easy. I also think the idea of an Intellectual forum is elitest and, in reality, turns out to be incredibly conformed and dull.

The test is actually pretty easy. I passed it on my first try and I was quite surprised. As I know I am not some incredibly intelligent person.

I took the test seven times, failure after failure. then I passed.

But oh wait! I don't want to upset the status Quo here.

hehem - yea, that test was really damn easy I got it first time - without thinking -blindfolded and while I got head from the cat.

Well I took the test 3 x's and all the topics in here make lots of sense just i'm not good with grammar.  Maybe though the test is not as exclusive as some people think it should be, but it seems to be fine from the posts i'm reading in this forum.

The test was a bit harder than I expected.  I don't like this length requirement though, if you can say what you need to say in a short space, then why not?

I find this a great shame.

The "intellectuals" get their own forum -- and just for a tad of class and elitism we put a test on it.

then what happens??

We have stupid topics (posted by people who really shouldn't be here) posting about the damn test.

so I ask - WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT??

CANT WE JUST ACCPET SHIT HOW IT IS AND USE THE FORUM??

OH NO OF COURSE NOT!, INSTEAD OF DEBATING MARX, OR FUCKING MINDS WITH KANT, BUT NO, WE DON'T DO THAT, INSTEAD WE JUST FUCKING MOAN ABOUT A FUCKING TEST, WE ALL FUCKING PASSED.

and so, I have solution(s)

1) scrap the test, no restrictions
2) stop complaining and start debating
3) remodel/rework the test
4) Scrap the test but have a peer system, where people are invited to join because of a good, insightful post history.

I'd be more in favor of option three, as the problem with number four is that you step into the relm of favoritism.

Either way, I'm suprised that the mods won't delete these threads.  Generally if there are multiple threads on the same topic they will delete most of them.  Maybe this is just a hint towards their own personal bias?
