hey ive heard a lot about this program and i was just wondering what advantages it has. i mostly work with autocad and i can do almost anything with it but complex curves are a pain in the ass. ive seen some work done in 3ds max and it looks really smooth. how much does this cost? or would i be better off trying to downlaod it?

Yeah its a good as a 3D modeler and as a Student in 3D im saying that Maya and 3Ds max are the best 3D modeling softwares ever,Maya was made by the company called as Alias,Now Autodesk which is the company makes the 3Ds max has bought the Maya too now they are both under the same roof. any ways,

The 3Ds max costs alot in US im not US so you have to search it in google Ok you can get that in there web site it costs: $3,495.00 AutoDesk,And I dont even have the original copy of that I got that from a friend.If you have any other doubts ask me.

3495! holy shit autoCAD isnt even that much money, i think ill try an alternative method on aquiring it

u can check out maya too. both maya and 3dsmax are made by the same bunch of people but personally i think maya has a easier to learn UI.
