well there are firewalls u can download that will block viruses and pop ups like that, i got my dad to put some on my computer and now it runs freely without any interuption...

Ever heard of the saying "Closing the gate after the horse has bolted"? That's basically what you've suggested, How will a firewall help him when he already has shit on his computer? As suggested in previous posts, spyware removal tools are what you are after.

Just a follow up to Roy's post, he didn't mean get all three of those anti virus programs, at least i hope he didn't..
