I'm in a joint lease in an apartment with someone who smokes pot in her room.
I've asked her not to do it in the house before, but she hasn't really listened to me. I hate the smell of it, she never told me she smoked beforehand, and I can get kicked out and lose my deposit if anyone finds out about it.
Would it be going too far to demand for her to do it somewhere else? Or should I even go to the landlord if she won't stop? It stinks something terrible

You should talk to her first. It's half your apartment as much as it is hers, so ask her to smoke out the window in her room, or get something to suck in and purify the smoke at least. Going to the cops or the landlord just seems kinda petty to me. (i'm not meaning that to sound like a judgement statement) You should tell her that if she refuses to smoke outside of the house, she could at least buy the higher up kind of pot, because it does actually smell better. I've got a few friends that smoke and you pay for what you get basically is what i've been told.. just try to talk it out with her first because that will bring a line of communication between you, as well as possiably solve whatever problems you guys are having.
