Sorry I don't know I spent my last two and a half years of high school working in order to help pay for my tuition and board while at Uni. I suppose I'm fortunate I found a good paying job and my parents were able to pay the rest for me to go. Good luck hope your money comes through soon, your about to start a wonderful journey that should take you through the rest of your life.

I think you get your money at the end of drop/add in the fall.

i think community college is different. i have to apply every quarter instead of every year.

You always pay quarterly or by semester,as you never know how many classes you're going to take or whatever. Most people won't find out what they get from FAFSA until either the school informs you or until sometime in May.

Your college financial aid department will send you an aid package which should include any grants, scholarships and loans they will offer you. If your EFC is 0, you should have the majority (if not all) paid for through Pell grants and school scholarships. This money will be placed in your student account and used to pay for tuition, fees and other debts at the college. If you have any remaining funds after the add/drop date (anywhere from 2-8 wks after classes start), the school will issue you a check for that amount (or direct deposit). You should check with your school's FA department for more information on your individual aid package and verify that you will not need any outside funding to cover your tuition. Depending upon the school you attend, sometimes grants and scholarships still do not meet all need, such as room & board. Every case is different, so be informed and ask a lot of questions!
