I'm trying not purge anymore and just fast but its so freakin HARD!! I really hate purging but i cant help it. If i eat somethin i have to at least purge some of it otherwise i start feelin realli antsy and i cant stop thinkin about it. i think i could loose weight faster if i just fasted so im gonna start a fast tmrw and hopefulli make it through 3 days. ive done it before but its been a while so its gonna be kinda tough.

You would lose weight faster if you ate properly. Not eating puts the body into survival mode, so it hordes everything as fat, just in case. Eat healthy. That's all it takes.

I dont understand how people can make themselves puke.
I tried it once when I was drunk and I wanted to stop feeling so sick and I couldnt. it was too hard.

I fast for Ramadan, and that means I don't eat anything or drink as long as the sun is up.  Let me tell you something, you're going to end up gaining weight.  As FurryPanther said, by stopping yourself from eating, your body will start storing up all the fat when you eat again.  In the end, you'll only make thinks worse.  Not to mention that you'll be weak on energy, get headaches, nausea, and similar things.

People associate eating with gaining weight, but in the end, not eating can also do the same.  We have to eat by nature, and if you don't eat properly, your body starts storing more fat.  And you know what?  When you don't eat and you don't have proper energy, your body starts digesting your MUSCLES first.  So before yous start losing any fat, it'll go towards your muscles, and you'll end up being weaker as well.

The best thing to do is to eat a healthy diet.  If you don't want to eat too much, then at least eat a 1500-1800 calorie diet, per day (2000 is a good general caloric intake).  And exercise!  Not only will exercise help you lose weight, but it'll help tone your muscles, and give a nicer shape.  :D

oh and ive done the 3 day fast before so im not worried and i wont gain weight as long as i dont start eatin a lot afterwards.. ive done it before and i didn gain the weight back but i also exercised a lot during the fast so thats probably why.

That's incredibly bad for your health.  Your body has no energy to work on when you aren't giving it any energy.  Exercising during a fast is horrible for your body, and you're not doing yourself any favors.

In the end, you may not gain any weight from fasting, but you probably won't lose much either.  The fastest way, and most healthiest, is to do it by a controlled diet and exercise.

I just want to say this... if you have the will to fast for three days, then do you not have the will to stop purging, and just maintain a good, balanced diet?

You burned energy while you weren't replacing it? Are you stupid?

As Just Waiting Here said, your body will digest the muscles first while under extreme dietary stress, so you are damaging things also being damaged by the natural processes of your body. You can completely destroy any hope of ever having proper muscles again doing that.

Ever heard of muscle death?

eat 3 meals a day, exercise lots and stop purging (even though it is hard it is VERY bad for your body) and you will lose weight

That is incredibly unhealthy. And just bad. You WILL gain weight. Or just die.

I'm actually kind of in the same boat, because I'm stopping my purging tendencies. And I know you feel the need to fast in its place, but don't. I'm losing weight just fine eating a healthy diet. Really.
