Im newish to Vista (not computer or tech, just Vista), and I got UAC turned off no problem, the thing that bothers me is that it has that security alert icon and an occasional bubble that pops up saying "Click here to re-enable UAC"

I know that at least once I accidentally clicked it (out of habit, because in XP, clicking it makes it go away).

Anyways, is there a way to have UAC off, without that coming up?

You dont have the red security shield occasionally popping up notifications about it?

No...

Right click on the red shield icon. Select open security center. In the blue bar, select change the way security center alerts me. Choose the option that you suits you best.

If you do not have virus protection and adware/spyware protection. I do not recommend you turn off UAC. People find it as an annoyance, when really it eliminates the need for virus protection if you know what your doing.

Thanks!

I do completely agree, but I have AV Protection, and I know what Im doing, so its a HUGE annoyance.

Its all gone now though, so Im back to enjoying Vista again.
