Get a free one like ZoneAlarm. You really need a firewall for ANY OS, and the built in ones are always the first place anyone would look to find a break, because so many people use it (almost all viruses/attacks are market share related).
So, yes, get one, but you dont need to spend money to get a great one.
Although, I do hear the Vista Ultimate one is pretty good.

Does Zone Alarm currently support Vista yet? I could be looking at out of date information, but the files for download I have seen don't show compatibility for Vista. The whole market share idea certainly works for Microsoft products. They are so popular, and yet have so many security issues. Can't say much about Apple and Linux, even though Apple brags about it not being so vulnerable as a marketing ploy of some sort. I loved seeing the Apple ads on the Apple website.
So far I have installed a program called Vista FirewallControl. It seems to give control to programs requesting connections, but I will have to start from the ground up having to accept programs that want internet access.

Yes, ZoneAlarm is compatible with Vista.
You can download it free from their site, or Im sure you can find the entire ZoneAlarm Premium Suit elsewhere.
