Hey LW, I am trying out for my schools acting ensemble class, and I need a good monologue that is High School appropriate.  It needs to be between 1 and 2 minutes. Any Ideas?

Read a monologue from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Helena is a good character choice (Act I, Scene I).

I'm very good if I know what to do with the piece. I have always been dramatic, but I am fairly new to Theater classes.

I suggest something then created by yourself or not very popular, the less popular it's... Better for you if you don't have experience.

I would stay away from Shakespeare if this is your first time. There are so many shalls and shall nots that its better to just leave it for another day.
Uhm comedy...to be honest I know more dramatic plays over comedic. I guess you could count Harvey as one. Oh I know one!! Okay, its still "Harvey," pick the monologue that Dr. Chumley has to himself, however Elwood is present. Its quite interesting. He talks about how he wishes a woman other than his wife would play with his hair and not say a single word. Its comedic. Hope you find something soon!

If you have that, could you send it to me? Please?

Any Shakespeare is good for monologues. Also maybe something from the Greek theatre such stories as Oedipus or Antigone.

Also depends on your skill
