That only has to do with getting a new compter, or upgrading an existing computer. Not with a current computers problems.

Uh....yeah. Troubleshooting problems are way to varied. Maybe I'll get around to making an outline for that, but this thread is just for people who are looking to buy/upgrade.

DO NOT UPGRADE A LAPTOP

one they're horribly expensive and two most people won't touch them

if you want to upgrade, i wouldn't bother for about $150 more than what you'll pay you'll get a new desktop for. and it'll be better than the upgrade

Upgrading ram is actually pretty cheap for the performance gain in laptops. Plus some people need help finding the parts to repair things like broken CD drives or if they want to buy a wireless card for an older laptop.

I've never heard of a company that will void your warranty for upgrading ram in a long time. Most laptops make ram easily available to replace. And it's not hard to replace a CD drive. Many companies have manuals for doing it on their websites. The biggest problems are finding which CD drive to buy and not losing the screws.
