is there a way to just wipe every single thing off it?

i know there is but... i havent been able to find it?

My Computer, right click the local disk and click Format. It'll wipe it good :o

It's called reformatting the hard drive.  Don't try to do it yourself unless you know exactly what you're doing.  You could end up with a giant placemat.

Format, or do a system restore to original setings, though you need to have made the discs for that.

Are you asking about what program you need to erase it, or the specifics of how the machine does it?  If you just want the "program," you don't need one, it's wired into the computer.  How it works on the technical level I have no idea.

If you want to wipe the HD clean there is a software called DRD it cost money but it wipes HDs clean so that none can be recovered or a simple wipe can be done using your Operating System Disk.

I'm trying to point out in a subtle way the logistics of a program running on the C drive formatting the C drive and thus erasing itself half way thorugh.....

its far easier to perform the format by just sticking the XP cd in and starting the process of installing, that way the formatting program runs from a RAM drive
